Dr. Debra Nestel, Director of the NHET-Sim Programme, welcomed the participants via Webex all the way from Melbourne, Australia and introduced them to the use of simulation technology, including standardized patients, part-task trainers, manikins and computer-based models in health professions education.

Dr. Vanda Abi Raad, Director of the LAU Clinical Simulation Center and Dr. Nadia Asmar, Director of OSCE and Clinical Skills Program at the LAU Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine took part in the session along with twenty-one participants from Lebanon, and two participants from Kuwait and Jordan.

Dr. Hanane Barakat, Clinical Assistant Professor of Anesthesia at LAUMC-RH and a 2016 graduate of the clinical simulation diploma, graciously shared her experience, named “The pearl of Wisdom”, with the 2017 participants.

In addition to online modules, Module One will be completed by a workshop delivered on-site by Pr. Nestel on Monday March 27, 2017, following the “Third International Conference on Medical Education”  proceedings.
