Airway Management Workshop hosted by the Anesthesiology Department
The Anesthesiology Department at the LAU Medical Center-Rizk Hospital held their second annual airway management workshop on Saturday, November 17. The workshop, organized in collaboration with the LAU Clinical Simulation Centerm was attended by anesthesiology and emergency medicine residents, nurse anesthetists and recovery room nurses. The workshop consisted of seven hands-on stations on adult and pediatric airway management skills. Also, and for the first time at the hospital, a high fidelity simulator was used in the operating room to ensure a more realistic simulation environment. A general debriefing focused on the principles of Anesthesia Crisis Resources Management (ACRM) followed the scenarios. Simulation-based team training is well known to improve communication between team members and enhance the quality of care for patients.
